Nismo 370Z (Z34) 2009-
At a Glance: 2009 Nissan NISMO 370Z
The all-new, second generation NISMO 370Z, which is set to go on sale at Nissan dealers nationwide in June 2009, continues the tradition of the original by offering unique performance and design attributes that true sports car enthusiasts are looking for – straight from the factory. Like the limited production NISMO 350Z introduced two years earlier, the new NISMO 370Z is a tuner-Z® enthusiast’s dream, featuring 350 horsepower and 276 lb-ft of torque, racing-inspired exterior and interior styling, a specially tuned suspension and special super-lightweight forged alloy wheels. The NISMO 370Z was developed by Nissan’s Specialty Vehicles Group in conjunction with Autech Japan, Nissan’s longstanding conversion partner.
The NISMO 370Z’s standard 3.7-liter DOHC V6 engine with Variable Valve Event and Lift Control (VVEL) combines with a refined 4-wheel independent suspension and advanced FM (Front Midship) platform to offer responsive performance and handling. The NISMO Z®’s exclusive H-configured exhaust system design, muffler tuning and optimized ECM (Engine Computer Module) control help provide responsive upper end power. As expected of a true performance machine, the NISMO 370Z is offered with only one transmission – a close-ratio 6-speed manual transmission with standard “SynchroRev Match,” the world’s first synchronized downshift rev matching manual transmission (which allows perfectly matched heel-toe-like downshifting).
The NISMO 370Z also features a NISMO-branded strut tower brace for enhanced body rigidity and a pair of performance dampers to manage road-input vibrations and help contribute to the NISMO 370Z’s high levels of stability and performance feel. The NISMOtuned suspension includes special springs and stabilizer bars. Unique 5-spoke 19-inch RAYS forged aluminum-alloy wheels are mounted with Yokohama ADVAN Sport Y-rated highperformance tires. Nissan Sport Brakes and a Viscous Limited-Slip Differential (VLSD) are also standard on all NISMO 370Zs.
Along with its standout performance, the new NISMO Z® stands out from the crowd with its dramatic performance-oriented exterior and interior. The functional and fully integrated aerodynamic body pieces include an extended front nose with a canard design at each corner for improved downforce and a fully integrated chin spoiler. Special side sills and a unique rear bumper help control airflow under the vehicle, while the functional rear spoiler also increases downforce. The interior includes NISMO logo seats with black and red fabric and red stitching, a NISMO tachometer, steering wheel with smooth leather and red parallel stitching, smooth leatherwrapped shift knob and aluminum trimmed pedals. A serialized plaque of authenticity is also matched to each NISMO Z®, identifying its unique serial and model year designation.

I can't get into the looks of the 370Z. The 350Z was so fantastic looking, this looks silly.

From the front I think it is an improvement, but that ass is inexcusably horrible.

Barcelona, Spain 08 February, 2013 - The second member of Europe's new Nissan Nismo range has been revealed - the 370Z Nismo.
Closely following the Nissan Juke Nismo, the 370Z Nismo shows what the ultimate Z has to offer. The thrilling coupe has been unveiled to world's media as part of the Juke Nismo Nissan Live event in Barcelona, Spain, ahead of its public debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March.
After experiencing the excitement offered by the Juke Nismo and getting a taste of the Nismo spirit of pioneering engineering and innovation, visitors to Nissan Live were treated to an exclusive surprise reveal of the Z Nismo. All were quick to move in for a closer look at the coupe's dramatic styling with red Nismo design signatures and eager to learn about its increased power and improved aerodynamics.
Available only as a coupe with a six-speed manual gearbox, the 370Z Nismo features extensive engineering and styling enhancements. A version of the 370Z Nismo is already on sale in North America and Japan, but for Europe a unique specification has been developed to suit both road conditions and the tastes of European driving enthusiasts.
Judging by the media reaction as the new Nismo was revealed, the stunning design will be a key element of this Z's appeal. Just like the Juke Nismo, every change over the standard 370Z has been carefully considered and based on Nismo's motorsport experience. Design modifications have been driven by aerodynamic improvement.
The front end features a more aggressive design improving airflow under the car, leading to improved stability at higher speeds and through corners. This additional downforce is complemented by an extensively re-engineered suspension and chassis set-up, enhancing stability and dynamic handling on both road and track.
Other design enhancements include the distinctive Nismo red pinstripe lines visible at both the front and the rear and on the door mirrors. Unique dark grey Nismo superlight 19-inch forged alloy wheels with sports-derived red brake calipers and wider high performance tyres are also fitted. At the rear a smart new spoiler adds the finishing visual touch while also improving aero performance.
Inside, the already performance-oriented 370Z design is now more driver-focused than ever. The steering wheel is finished in alcantara and leather with a red race-inspired ‘top dead centre' marker, as seen on the Juke Nismo. The sports seats are fully electric with special Nismo badging and red stitching for a premium and sporty detail. The finishing touch is a numbered Nismo plate adding exclusivity to each 370Z Nismo.
Thanks to Nismo tuning, the Z's 3.7-litre V6 engine delivers 344PS, up from 328PS in the standard car, while torque increases from 363Nm to 371Nm. The result is improved responsiveness across the low and mid rev range, and a 0-100km/h time of only 5.2 seconds (subject to homologation).
Already known for its exceptional dynamics and handling characteristics, the rear-wheel drive 370Z delivers an even more thrilling experience in Nismo form. Drivers will experience thrilling acceleration and the reassurance of exceptional high-speed stability.
Enhancing braking feel is also a crucial part of the Z's development, so Nismo engineers have adopted high rigidity brake hose and high performance brake fluid from the R35 GT-R. An exclusive Nismo dual exhaust system also enhances and amplifies the thrilling sound of the Z's 3.7-litre V6 engine.
Further details will be revealed at the Geneva Motor Show on 5th March 2013.
