The ipod idea is a good one, if it can be done tastefully.
I like It
I nominate any sig with a reference or lyrics to a nirvana song. ;)
one, the Rx7's flood easily if not given time to warm up, two, detonation can still affect the rotory, as you'll destroy your apex seals.
the best way to make an Rx7 go fast is illustrated Here ...
So I guess it'll go on being underpowered...
oddly, I think the VEMAC car is better looking than the Elise, but it too is underpowered. I can only hope the 350 link is a big engine car :p
*edit* I sent them a message asking if they could...
Not exactly meant for racing..
C5-R Race Engine
Katech developed the Corvette Factory Race Team's race engines starting with the 6.0L last year and this year's winning 7.0L package.
We offer...
Our LS1 is exclusive in that it is in our car, makes great power and runs on pump gas. if that isn't enough.. what can ya do?
most race engines ( at least track engines ) are built to make optimal power at peak RPM, and if you cut the RPM band down to a 'safe' one, it won't make the power you would expect from a 'race'...
What do the Ferrari's and Lambo's have?
Not in America.
Really? I was under the impression that supercars has nice amenities such as radio/cd players and the like.
So is this a supercar, or a focused sports car?
With all these funny names, my woman inspired this one...
The UCP Quicky.
:D
This thread should be for the electronics package for the supercar... such as the data recording unit, radio/cd/whatever head unit, speakers, wiring.
give your suggestion, your opinion as to why...
I've seen some good electronic/digital dashes, but gauges and dials seem to suggest performance, even if modern race cars have moved away from that.
I'm actually more comfortable with needle tachs...
The engine combo I quoted that ended up in the price was a prebuilt unit making 500 hp / 480 ft.lbs from the company building it, meaning no involvement beyond installing it into the car when we...
Which is true, that is why I suggested the other options.
In my mind a non-transverse is best. centers the engine in the car, keeps the centerline with that of the car..
LOL thats a nirvana song I dedicated to my woman!
no need to be a sore loser :D
It's been done many, many times in the LS1 fieros, so we have off the shelf parts available if you go transverse, but I think I found a good solution for the transaxle.
Anouther option would be the GM325 Transaxle as used in the Olds Toronado, as it is a non-transverse mount. I can't find anwhere to source them from as the Toronado is no longer in production.
A...
From my research the GETRAG units in the Fieros can hold quite a bit of power, but then again it's a 5 speed. I'll let ya'll do your own reading on this..
Research
Don't forget Hennessey ****ing people over, returning peoples cars without modifications promised or selling the engines / parts outright, or if you are lucky enough to actually GET your car as...
How about you guys give me some idea and I'll fab something up and take some pictures?
Hell I'll do it myself....
Actually, we could use duals like the kit car guys that run the LS1 use, meaning, off the shelf parts with most of the research done.
You guys still haven't found a decent trans-axle, so you...
