    which is it? are they trying to make it sound superspecial in a bid to sell them

    customer feedback:

    cd player didn't come with harness, doesn't describe item clearly

    This guy sells bugatti's and cd players sound like a hoax to me

    Supercharge: to increase the pressure on a gas or liquid.

    A supercharger is something which does this.

    On a car it is the air going into the cylinders which is supercharged. This is done either by a belt driven supercharger or by a turbo, driven by the exhaust gasses.

    So a turbo is a type of supercharger, and was known by the name "turbo supercharger" indicating that it is a turbo type supercharger, as opposed to a normal supercharger.

    People got confused easily, and combined with general laziness the "super" got dropped from the name leaving "turbocharger".
