    Do Ferraris suck?

I used to think they were godly and all of that jazz but now they just don't seem that impresive when they're smoked in the 1/4, corners and in top speed by a more purpose built car. even quality can be made by yourself from home and be attained much easier than coming up with +100K. I saw a Ferrari Enzo a few weeks ago and it was truly amazing but a tuned skyline, 350z, 240SX, RX7, Mustang, Fiero, MR2, Firebird, 3000GT, WRX or Eclipse could beat it in one way or another for less money.

Can anyone tell me hardcore facts on how it would give a true driver more pleasure to own a ferrari over one of the other cars i listed?

You're buying status, not a car when it comes to Ferraris and such. IMO

I don't think the enzo driver was going all out. I highly doubt any of those cars could beat the enzo if it was going all out. Are you basing your views on ferrari just because of one driver you saw?

People by a ferrari because they want the best a hand made exotic car. My dads freinds got a 360 spyder but hes also got a 1400hp mustang, 1969 Superbird, and many more cars. So some people who have Ferraris have other cars.

    yeah some have other cars

BUT ferraris are not the best hand made, and im not even sur they are still handmade, and Aston or a TVR on the other hand is hand made and the best, but its all personal taste

Yeah Ferraris are handmade. Ive seen pics of there production. Astons are great cars, but the fun facotr on a Ferrari is alot greater.

Says the man with extensive experience of cars from both marques...

In short - yes modern Ferraris are rubbish.

Their current cars rely too heavily on electronics to allow any numpty who gets in one to post lap times within split seconds of their test drivers.

They seem intent on replicating their F1 cars for the road, ignoring the fact that F1 cars aren't great to drive. I'd rather change gear and learn how to apply the power coming out of a corner myself rather than letting a Schumacher-programmed computer do it for me.

Their design pilosophy is flawed, to put it kindly. F**king awful if you want to be blunt. Both inside and out.

They whore their name out in a most ungracious manner; how long before you can get Ferrari lightbulbs, toilet paper or breakfast cereal?

Their "fans" are often extremely arrogant and obnoxious types who won't stand for even the most valid of small criticisms without flying off in a rage.

However, they have a certain cache that Toyota and Nissan will never attain.

Also, however much you delude yourself, a fast 'n' furious Skyline or whatever will never be as well set up or "complete" as a Ferrari.

    All IMHO of course...
    Thanks for all the fish

Note Ferrari's demographic is not you and me, but people have easily over million in disposible income, and are usually older thus having their life time in acquiring that kind of disposible income. Realistically those people deserve to enjoy whatever they want, and are not likely to be looking for the fastest, the most grip or anything. It's the big congradulatory pat on the back saying "I've made it". Same cannot be said for someone with a Fiero that's faster than an Enzo.....

As to the products themselves, they are to reflect their F1 root, as pretty much as every Ferrari of their respective era, to reflect the technology of the Grand Prix car. Be it as a good or bad thing is another story. However with their limited production nature, and the demographic they are aiming at, the engineering that goes into making a Ferrari will likely to be a lot less compromised with the things that burdens a regular car.

i love classic ferrari's but the cash hog that is present day ferrari is just pathetic, they are pimping the brand of one of the greatest car makers ever, and making true car enthusiasts(the people who buy the cars) dislike it
