The car is screaming for nice tires. Also some BBS (original looking), would enhance the look, but probably would need you to double your investment. Consider getting them second hand.

^^^Those are the original style BBS wheels, or at least I'm 90% sure they are.

I'm not sure your reasoning behind 8v GTI's being better than 16v GTI's, but a GTI is a GTI. Good choice man, that car looks fine.

They are actually original BBS 14 inch alloys but because I am upgrading the brakes I will have to change the wheels to 15 inch. I am thinking Ronal LS 15 inch alloys like the ones on this Golf. I also like the way they can accept wider tyres - the current ones look a bit puny. A Gti is not a Gti without (wideish) tyres.

I am also getting a set (second hand) of factory green tinted glass. Plain glass just looks too cheap for a Gti.

Well I hope to do when I bring it in from the UK in a few days. I am selling my Caddy 1.9Tdi van (2002) as I no longer need a van - transferring my sat nav and cd changer from the van into the Gti and hope to use it as my second car.
One big advantage with the modding thing is that there are now a massive range of products and places that can do virtually anything to a Mk II Gti so it should be able to stay on the road for a good few more years.

They're out of production as far as I know. They're BBS RM's. True 2 piece wheels. You can probably find a set on eBay.
