Heh, not only does the Z06 beat the Noble around willow springs by over 2 seconds, but after the second lap the Noble overheats due to lack of airflow(it was only 95*too).
That wasn't the range topper.
The Noble M12 M400 is faster.
0-60mph 3.5 seconds (est)
0-100mph 8.0 seconds (est)
Corvette ZO6
0-60 3.8 seconds (est)

C6 Z06 0-60 3.4 seconds...
You were saying?
i belive the Z06 is 3.7 0-60...
Actually, the standing start 1/4 mile time and speed is a better way to determine which car is faster. 0-60 mph determines only a car's low-to-mid range acceleration.Originally Posted by matek

No surprise an unmodified Noble would be a little warm beating round the track in 95 degrees. We got it pretty warm pushing it round Knockhilll in 15 degrees ( real ones -- centigrade, so about 60 "old style" degrees )

50-80mph is the best measure of a car's real world, outright speed: motorway slip roads, overtaking manoeuvres, coming out of contraflows etc. I think it should be the new standard.

hmmmmmmm dont think so
your Corvette isn't as fast as you want it to be

What's most amazing is how quick the Z06 feels. Considering that the Vette and the Viper hit the quarter-mile within a few tenths of each other, what we're about to say is going to sound strange, but the Vette feels a lot stronger than the Viper. One editor likened it to "having a booster rocket at the end of your foot."
And if the Viper is hitting it so close to the ZO6 it can't be faster than the M400.

Did you not read the times? Whats wrong dont like facts when they oppose your argument?Originally Posted by matek
Can the M400 do mid 11s in the 1/4 mile? (wouldnt be surprised if it could).
The Corvettes 0-60 is quicker than the Vipers because its GEARING. It can hit 60 in first gear... On top of that it *feels* quicker because again GEARING. The Viper has a rear 3.07 gear, while the Corvette sports a 3.42, not to mention the fact that its 400lbs lighter...
Nope sorry Guardian reader
And no How can you say it's a fact when every website gives a different figure???
So its not to do with not liking them when they opose MY point of view.
And here In UK people aren't that concerned with 1/4 mile as they dont tell you anything about the handling etc, so yes
Facts from our own UCP:
Noble:
With a power to weight ratio of 400bhp per tonne, the Noble M400 is by far the most powerful car in the M12 range, hitting 60mph from standstill in 3.5 seconds and 100mph in just 8.0 seconds. At the heart of the M400 is the same twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre V6 engine found in the standard M12, but thanks to high-lift camshafts, larger turbochargers and revised fuel injection, power has been increased by 21 per cent to 425bhp, while torque is up by 11 per cent to 390lb ft.
Power to weight ratio 0.4 bhp / kg
Corvette:
The new Z06 achieves 500 horsepower in an approximately 3130-pound (1419.7 kg) package and is expected to deliver 0-60 performance of less than 4 seconds, eclipse the quarter-mile in less than 12 seconds and deliver a top speed of more than 190 mph on a race track.
(for some reason UCP don't have the exact figures and only your site says the 3.4 which was done by an independant Magazine).
Power to weight ratio 0.35 bhp / kg
And power to weight ratio shows that the Z06 would get Pwn3d on a track.
