BTW, does anyone know if VW offered a sports suspension pack on this car?

So, you were saying?
Multiquote ftw!
I'm not bothered about hot hatches with over 4 cylinders- it's overkill, but it's there because that degree of opulence is utterly mad. The Clio V6 is a brilliant example. It's insane, but it works. The Focus ST has an amazingly tractable engine, because the engine (even natuned!) is naturally more torquey than, say, a Porsche 2.5 4-cyl (151lb ft). A Volvo 2.4 5 cyl, natuned, produces about 160lb/ft of torque and less bhp than the Porsche engine.
But less on that. All the hatches with the stupid engines appeal to me. I know they'll understeer, and I know they'll drink petrol, and one day there'll be one where the chassis can't handle the power so it'll do something terrible, but in the mean time... let's enjoy what's on offer
Some people love the agility of a hatchback, but want ballistic performance. And I suppose, being family hatches, they're practical, insanely fast, they're nimble, and you'll definitely embarass someone off the lights.
Think about it. A debadged Golf R32, the Mk. IV, pulls up to the lights, with standard GTi wheels, and no real clue to its power. The ned next door in his Saxo wants to play ball. 4,000rpm 1.4!!!11!11 lyk d00d it's sooooo fast.
Lights change, game over.
That's the appeal.
And ripper- I don't know, but surely (being the GTi model), it has sports suspension already?
I don't think so , In my town there's another mk3 gti and it stands lower, and it is also standard. In fact ive never seen such a high one like mine

Are you sure it's not a sleeper?
And maybe you got conned- it's just a 1.6 CL with GTi badges
then its a 1.6 cl body and suspension whith recaro interior and tha ABF block transplanted into it , no I definately didn't get conned , but I read it somewhere on a forum that VW had an optional sports suspension , but I can't find it anymore

Your best bet would be to find the other Golf GTi in town, stake it out, then kill the owner and rummage through any documents you find about his car. Alternatively (and probably less likely to get you in trouble), you could introduce yourself and then ask!

Weey, looks great, grey's the best colour for GTI's up until the mk5, white for them. I like the pattern on the seats, looks pretty cool, I'm guessing this is a 2.0litre?

I disapprove of not slamming it.

Nice ride ripper! I hope you have a lot of fun with it! I also wish you success in your quest for finding informations about the sport suspension. Unfortunately, I don't know anything about it...
