Muito bom mesmo. Tive pena de não dar pra ir. Será que volta em 2008?

Vou voltar ao inglês para o pessoal não ficar à nora.
From what I've read and heard from the drivers and FIA people, the rally was well received. There were no special issues to deal with and this time the public was more or less well behaved. From now on I think the finantial interest from sponsors will be the decisive factor.
If you ask me and from what I've seen the rally lost all it's magic. It's not a tough challenge like it used to be, the stages aren't half as beautifull as in the past, and even WRC's are becoming way too efficient to be spectacular.
The Algarve Stadium SS was veru nice. The slippery asphalt made up for a good show.

Strange about the Ford people, providing rear windows that are 0.5 mm too thin. They could have easily prevented that...

Yes, I see what you mean. Rally these days isn't half as magic as it was 20 years ago. The most exiting image I saw of this year's rally was a Audi Sport Quattro S1 showing off in Algarve Stadium, in the 1st day, and Algarve and South Alentejo have nothing to do with the parts of Portugal that made Portugal Rally an historic one. But I think that's money and security talking out loud. I say 205 t16 and Quattros racing 20 kms from my house and that was, in fact, a great, pure, no filter rally...If you ask me and from what I've seen the rally lost all it's magic

Well... I don't think that the "new" rally was that less challenging.
Although I'm not that familliar with the "old" rally - therefore I can't make a clear judgment - I agree that this one was less spectacular indeed, but the stages were very rough and hard on cars and drivers.
The stages that made many people worldwide call it "the best rally in the world" are, so it seems, lost for good...
Allgarve has everything that a WRC nowadays needs, being one of Portugal's most touristic sites...
