Nice shots! Group B rally was awesome (apart from the tradgedies) but I also enjoy modern-day rallying, I think it's a great way to show cars tested to the extreme and just what drivers are capable of.

I also went there and although I liked it, I didn't like it as I thought I would. The stages aren't as beautiful as the ones in the North. They are the most demanding on the calendar, as Hirvonen said, Silves/Ourique is the most demanding stage they face, but they are not as beautiful so see as the ones we had.. The magic is lost. The public isn't as enthusiastic. Not only because the Algarve never had the rally tradition, but mainly because ther's a lack of icon's in rallying nowadays. The SSS were far from being full. I remember quite well being in Baltar and it being filled with people until the end.

Did all spectators survive this time unhurt?

Vatanen gave us a great show with the Escort and the 205!! I simply loved it! I was alittle disappointed with Markku Alén. Was hoping a little more from him.. And it was great to see Waldegard drive the Audi.. Simply wonderful to see those machines again!

That doesn't mean the rally wasn't safe enough. The thing is you just can't beat stupidity.

    Yikes.
If you should see a man walking down a crowded street talking aloud to himself, don't run in the opposite direction, but run towards him, because he's a poet. You have nothing to fear from the poet - but the truth.

I could give you an example from the top of my head of how dutch can sometimes be worst, but it wouldn't be polite.
But you have a point. We have some very stupid spectactors. Though the league isn't ours alone. All latin countries always tried to have the last word on spectactor stupidity. Check some videos from Spain and Argentina back in the 80's.
