Probably because the majority of the population in that state has very conservative views on gun control, or lack thereof. Many kids in the Midwest are introduced to firearms at a young age, it's just simply the way it is. In many of the backwoods/ rural areas, firearms is one of the very few forms of recreation

I was already afraid that reading a good book was not high on the priority list...

Looking at the pics, i just think that it's quite impossible it only weighs 476kg. Judging from the size, 1 ton would be easily achiveable.

And still i don't think they should allow such activities. That boar should be kept for zooing..

Gee.. Clutch monkey gets around hey.

Are you seriously comparing the use of brain-washed, druged-out kids for genocide to an 11 year old boy hunting? I thinks it's quite ridiculous thatanyone would give a kid a high-powered weapon, too, but it's not at all the same as kids high on meth killing people with automatic rifles.

Not exactly, as F1_Master said, they're injected with drugs and fed 24/7. Keep in mind their duty is to feed one of the fattest nation in the world...

My apologies to anyone offended, I had to

Quite impossible. I answered Cotterik's comment about pig in general. I wasn't directly talking about the wild boar.

Enough Alabama bashing How can anyone compare an 11 year old hunting to an AK toting boy soldier? For the majority of human existence we have not had domesticated livestock nor agriculture. Hunting is part of being human. Besides, no mater how bad the wild game actually taste (most of is quite good though) your kill is always delicious. Its hard to comprehend if youve never eaten your own kill, but there is great satisfaction in dinning on something that you killed, dressed, and cooked yourself.

It is wonderful that the father in the picture has taken the time to make his son proficient with a gun. Typically when kids accidentally kill themselves or others with guns they have not been properly trained with fire arms.

By the way, I wish I could get the backstrap off that monster. I'd stuff it with spinach, feta, and sundried tomatoes. Then rap it in bacon and slow cook it all day, and i'd keep on basting it in my special sweet & spicy sauce. Unless your a Vegan that would put a smile on anyones face.
