    European Members: Suggestions Please!

As some of you may already know I dropped out of college last October, and I've been looking at new programs I could follow. However, I haven't found anything interesting, seems like there's no interesting career opportunities around my part of the world. So I've been thinking I could possibly move elsewhere, and after a relatively short thinking period I selected Europe as my continent of choice.

The problem is, where to? Being French yields France as the obvious country to move to, but I'd like to see if there are (and I'm sure there are) other awesome places I could move to. Basically, dear European members, promote your city!

I don't intend to move anywhere before at least two years, so I can save enough to have a good start wherever I go, and obviously to give myself the time to obtain all the necessary visas etc. to work and live legally in whichever country I'll go. The only restriction is that I can't afford to live in cities where everything cost an arm and a leg.

I may or may not move over there, but right now I'm ultimately bored of where I live and moving elsewhere would be awesome.

Thanks in advance for your help!

If you don't want to be paying a lot then Europe is definitely not a place to move to for you.

Have you seen exchange rates for the Euro or the Great Britain Pound?

    Definitely not favorable.

It's slightly better for Canadians, but it's not that much better.

well, at least you could explain us what are your interests, otherwise we won't know what could make any differences with your "part of the world".
btw, there are a lot of country worth a trip, but no one can say if a place is better than another, or someone who travelled and lived in different countries could. italy is good country, for example, but i am thinking about moving elsewhere after university. it's a good thing to see different kind of reality.
finally, you are very young, you have a lot of time to take a dicision.

Well I wanted to work with computers and/or cars, there are tons of possibilities with these two interests but they all require über mathematics here and I'm not good at all with mathematics... no matter how hard I work I always get average results or fail.

If he lives (and therefore works) in Europe that's pretty much irrelevant.

in cities where there are automakers, there are a lot of interesting jobs with computers and cars. one of my mates here in modena took a degree in a private school, two years long, and now he works at ferrari as a designer since last year. there is a great demand for this kind of job.
you don't need a great ability in math. but if you think you are no good at all, maybe your dreams are not connected with your abilities. moving to another country wouldn't improve your abilities, first of all you need an "education" in what you are interested, or it will be an hobby for ever, not your job.

    Didn't know that.

BTW, do you need to be a resident of another country to work there, or do you need a green card-type thing?

Wow, I couldn't possibly want anything better than that.

a green card would be ok, but of course, being a resident would be even better.
in europe, or italy from my experience, life costs a lot, it's true, but i guess it isn't really different in other parts of the world. somewhere you will earn more money probably, but you should use them to pay services in other country are "for free", such as medical insurance.

It's not only a problem of "life costs a lot" only either, but rather balancing the earnings and the cost of life.

Maybe then you find that it isn't that expensive (or maybe it is).

Fattest city in the US. Not much opportunities with chicks, unless I take the "bigger is better" motto word for word.
