Very bad idea!
Because now a lot of Indians can afford a car!, and the oil reserves isn't large enough to have 1 billion cars extra on the road in the next 5 years (incl. China)
what, so it's totally up to western nations to use the oil? Indians have as much right as anyone else to have access to a car.

I actually think it is great ! It's kind of comparable with my car, the Suzuki Alto, more sold as Maruti Zen. Originally it cost $4200 in India I've been told. Simple, cheap, quality motoring. Things like comfort will be less than the luxury cars we are used to, but if you are willing to make a compromise.. 9/10 people drive only short distances anyway.
Well, many might say its not safe da da da .... even the worst car is safer than a motorcycle .... or toot toot for that matter ...
