I was thinking earlier today that the 1M may be underrated to preserve the supremacy of the M3 (on paper). We will have to see one on a dyno.

It was done for the 335i, which supposedly actually had 330 hp, not 300. I wonder how much the 335is actually makes.

I've seen 354bhp for standard 135is.

I'm sure in the real world this is much faster than the M3, thanks to the wider powerband.

Worth being noted, the Audi RS 3 Sportback weights, officially, only 5 kg more than the 1M, despite also using an AWD system.
Not that I'd want one.

It also has one less cylinder and 500 less ccs.

Displacement is sort of irrelevant, and an AWD system weights quite more than a cylinder.

Truth is I was expecting both to be considerably lighter, especially the 1M.
And it just doesn't seem that special.

The 1M is pretty damn awesome, especially since it's ridiculously easy to get more power out of the old twin-turbo motor.

It's not the old twin turbo engine, rather the new "twinpower" turbocharged engine, with a twin scroll turbine (code N55).
