One event that particularly suffered from the global pandemic is the Geneva Motor Show, which was cancelled at the very last minute and has only returned for the first time this week. A lot has changed in the past four years and the 2024 Geneva Motor Show is in no way comparable to the star-studded event of the past. One loyal exhibitor that did return is Pininfarina, who revealed this striking Enigma GT show car. This 2+2 coupe boasts a windshield that tilts up like a canopy on a fighter plane and combines a mid-mounted 2.5-litre, turbocharged V6 engine with an electric motor on the front axle. The Enigma GT also has a remarkably low drag figure thanks to moveable aerodynamic devices and the cut-off, Kamm-style tail.
Another remarkable car that broke cover this morning is the reborn Renault 5. One of the all-time great Renaults, the original 5 was both a car for the masses but also formed the base for some mightily impressive rally cars. The retro-styled 5 revealed today is once again intended for the masses and features an all-electric drivetrain.
Rounding out our first coverage of the Formula 1 class of 2024, we today highlight the new Ferrari-engined Haas VF-24 and the RB VCARB 01, which the latest iteration of Red Bull's Italian F1 team.
