Cool, NSX... a major Alfa event? First a 2000 Touring Spider, and an orange Montreal? Looking forward to the pix!

Magnum, was that at a car show in the village? It's pretty rare to see anything worthwhile in Manhattan, let alone a list like that.

No, they were all at dealerhsips. I was going to grab pictures of the ferraris, but some man in a suit asked me to leave in a very rude manner.

I'm sorry, not Greenwich Village, Greenwich, CT. Its the home of America's super wealthy, just a 15 minute drive from the city. Its a rather scenic route their too, and I imagine if you got the highway at an empty time it would be some terrific fast paced driving.

Toyota... er... Aston Martin Cygnet, sorry.

Knowing that the man spent 35 grand on a 15 grand Toyota is hilarious. And sad.

No, not a major Alfa event, but just an Italian auto show in the middle of Long Island.

Any Italian car of any make is allowed, but what they bring can be special every so often.

I wish I knew of it earlier, they've only held it 6 times in total including the event this year. The first time I went was last year.

I'm still hoping that perhaps I might see the Ferrari P4/5- I think Jim lives in Long Island.

On the way in to work today I saw a brand new silver Aston Martin in Homebush West and some sort of black Lamborghini in a workshop at Croydon.

Last night after work, on the way to the station, I saw a Morris Major Elite coming down Pitt Street, heading towards Railway Square. White with red tailfins.

I went to Camperdown today and saw a Porsche 911T (red with a black top) in a back street in Glebe, a small 1960s(?) Bedford truck, a Hillman Super Minx (black with a white roof) and an old motor bike (looked like it would have been 1940s or 50s - don't know what it was but it was probably a Harley Davidson, because it was fairly big and it sounded like one) - all in the traffic on the Parramatta Road.

And speaking of Harley Davidsons, There is a showroom full of them in Camperdown and, towards the rear of the showroom, there were a 1957 Chevrolet van (did they make them as vans, or has someone blanked out the windows of a station wagon?) and a Model A Ford.

A friend of mine took a pair of videos with his iPhone, but being at night hardly anything could be seen.

I enjoyed it. It's been the first time I went to World Rally Championship event since the Catalunya of 2003 or 2004, IIRC. Night stages always amplify the sensations and feelings, they are far better than daylight ones in my opinion.

At first we were high up the mountains, and the first cars passed up kicking up dust and with the sun descending, which made for a beautiful view, something which you just don't get in cricuit racing. You could also see lights, glowing brake discs and exhaust(s).

It was also the first time I had seem the new 1.6 litre WRC cars in real life, and the fact is that they simply do not sound as good as the old ones. They seem far more politically correct.
