Which car company would you like to see buy the plant "should" Mitsubishi go under?

I probably should have said "when" but whatever.

Economics aside, which company would you all like to see take over in the instance that Mitsubishi shuts up shop.

Personally I want to see Toyota expand from there, gradually flooding the market with cheap, well made, economical, slab-sided, huge-headlighted small tyred boxes on wheels...which all have retarded tail lights. Eventually I see John Conosmos taking over as PM expanding Toyota's southern push to complete its goal of total world domination.

All without a RWD 200+kw sports car in the portfolio...

Nah j/k Toyota can go to hell.

We should get Chrysler back in on the game with an Aussie contigent, making cars designed in Aus.

Id back that with Chrysler , it least chrysler built some exciting cars, I think Ford and Holden are also feeling the pinch, the exports for holden have dried up, there both not selling as many Falcadores. Mitsi have layed off 250 workers and all the component companies are shedding staff . Doesnt look fantastic for makers of large cars. Mitsi biggest problem is the Magna is FWD and Australians, just dont like it FWD, I cant understand why?. When 95% of the drivers in this land wouldnt understand what understeer, oversteer etc is as the never get their car over 100km/h.

I'd LIKE Ford to buy the plant, have the 08 Falcon ready for fullscale export into the UK, US and Middle East but if anyone would buy it, Toyota would be my first guess, as theres got to be a strong case for the Corolla to return to local production

Nissan left when they got "removed" from group A racing in the early 90s.

stupid V8s having a cry made us lose a local manufacturer and a heavy DOMINATOR of the group A series. Gotta love those ol Group A R32 GTRs i wonder if any of them are still lurking around racetracks somwhere?
