It's a Calais you always want it to look smother. The VYII Calais is my fav and the VZ wile very nice i just didn't like the wheels on it.
I probaly would go VZ SS over VZ Calais. But with the VE? They both have there points i think.

Can't wait to see both the VE base and rest when they get better pics.
I was looking forward to seeing the SV6 and SS as they have different fronts on them i think?.

1 thing is for sure HSV has got plenty to work with now.

That is a much better and beautiful centre console! Be nice if it did DVD/TV tho! Perhaps that is an upgrade.... Even so, this is a very beautiful car and i hope it does well to revitalise the fading large car industry in Australia, which is not just a car market but a heritage, a way of life. Personally, the front bumper on the SS looks better, reminds me of the SSX.... so beautiful... if only....

What is the top LCD panel for in the SS? Stopwatch and other sporty functions? One final word: I'm also going against the grain and saying the SS looks better based purely on the fact the bottom of the Calais bumper is a PURE base model BA Ford rip off. Everything from the grille up however looks Holden all the way.

Alas the VE is here in the flesh. Now for the wait to see how the car market reacts.

An earphone jack, i reckon they could put it somewhere closer idk.

Where else would they put it? It makes sense to have it there, integrated into the unit, as not all cars would have it.

And I don't think the Calais lights are any bigger, I think those shots just make it look like they are. Doesn't really matter anyway, as they've got different rear bumpers it won't make a difference to repair costs.

    May I ask..
Is there any news on what the 'Omega' is?
Is the V approach just like Cadillac, with the V representing a higher model?Anything released on HSV?

I would say that there is an indicator on the grill and the mirror in that picture, but the grill is on and the mirror one isnt?

I have decided I rather like the stance of the cars, they look great side on especially, and I also like...
Oh yes, the way the lower model cars look good.
A problem with the VY in my eyes was that the base models ooked terrible and had horridly bland bumpers and headlights. Everything up to the s looked terrible, only the SS looked any good.
VZ was a vast improvement, but I can agree with this
    ...Thanks

    EDIT:
We havent seen the base models. Only an unclear pic in which the Berlina could pass for an SUV.
Ok. SSV looks how I would expect; sporty.
    Calais looks great
Statesman and Caprice look scary on first glance, but I imagine I could warm up to them.

This car is fantastic - I like everything, particularly the interior on the Caprice, and the amount of differenciation between models. The Falcon looks to be shot to bits (for the time being), but hopefully the Blue Oval can reply in 2008

The Berlina and Omega look like ****in' SUV'S! I think the problem with the SS is the front bumper. It looks like some cheap after-market one off a 96 WRX riced by someone. I'm going to chop on a BA or VZ one sometime i think..

The light on the mirror couldn't possibly be an indicator - its not visible enough!!
