I think I recognise that yellow T-Bird pictured, if so the long term owner is a mature-age lady and it's powered by a blown big block and is supposed to do 160+mph
Saw a previous NZ Targa from a few years ago on the tube, it looked like an ace event. Lots of interesting older models and gee don't the Kiwis drive them hard
Thanks for the pictures Looks like a great event, with plenty of variety of cars and some real characters....160mph in T-bird seems a bit frightnening though

If it's the one I recall, there was a short feature of it in some kind of previous Targa (NZ or Tassie?) where she drove it quite sedately & prudently in a vintage class. But IIRC maybe a blown 460cid and the claim was that it does some absurd speed due to hubby's minstrations. It certainly sounded very potent, very deepOriginally Posted by blackhonda
It runs through my town and they have a big stop here and then a special stage at Manfeild. I'll try and get some pictures.
Thanks for the pictures
I hope I'm not pushing it here, but do you have the images in at 1024x768 pixels?

Of course there were plenty of evo, sti, porsche and integra. These are just a few of the more obscure entries which were around at the time.
