As far a cigarette packets and Holdens go for mine I reckon Brock's 1979 A9X Torana looks heaps better, as did the '74 SL/R and especially the '73 XU-1Originally Posted by Daz27

Each to his own taste
Anyway I reckon a decently decked out Falcon Hardtop kills an HDT ciggy packet for looks. Ford's Allan Moffat fronted up through the 1970s in a series of well presented Falcon Hardtops, including the mean-as Southern Cross 'B52' XB GT of '74, and later 'Ford Dealer' XC Cobras (compare it to Brocky's lairy VK in pic #1 ) which did that famous 1-2 form finish at Bathurst in '77 (pic #2)
Moffat's best Hardtop colour scheme imho was the last, his Federation Falcon XC Cobra of 1979 (pic #3). What a tough looking racecar! As mentioned, its colour scheme was drawn up by Peter Arcadiapane - who's resume also extends to penning the pretty W215 Mercedes CL, plus of course the bodykit featured on the Mad Max Falcon
A few of my favourite racing Liveries include,
Subaru WRT
Rothmans on the old Mk2 Escort Rally Cars
Gulf GT40`s
Eaton Yale Ford Escort Mk2 RS1800 Rally Car
Texaco Ford Sierra Cosworths
Castrol (Toyotas, Jaguars etc.)
There are one or two others too, can`t remember them now, but I know that they are etched in my mind somewhere,
There used to be these 'Young Lions' Holdens in the Australian V8 Supercars, they looked great. Red and black is so much better than the HRT red and white.
All about the t-tops
Hey nota, wasnt Moffats 74 XB the car they called the phoenix, and ended up being the 77 race winner in XC panels? I remember seeing it in Australian Muscle Car, but I dont have the issue anymore, someone offered me a grand for the first 10 issues and stupidly I accepted...

IIRC Moffat's winning '73 XA ex-FSV Superbird was re-engineered by Kar Kraft to become the awesome '74 'B52' Southern Cross XB. This car was later destroyed in an Adelaide fire that also wiped out his new RaceTruck Transporter. Project Phoenix was built from a brand new race-spec shell from Ford (a-la Holden's GMPA) and debuted as the red/gold XB of '75, which evolved into his XC and CobraOriginally Posted by Daz27
Thats the one. Who owns it now? Is it one of Bowdens ones? He bought up all of Dick Johnsons cars recently for about a million I heard.

This amazing car was generously donated by Moffat to the Bathurst Museum, in NSW, where it still resides today.
