    also if you have a low cc engine with lots of cylinders the pistons are gernerally lighter and that means the engine is capable of more rpm. they used to do it in formula 1 in the old days to get the revs up some cars hade 16 cylinders but only 2 or 3 litres in capacity

    yep, Honda's ceramic 8 cylinder bike racer was a REAL push of the technology envelope.
    Too far though as it used to spontaneously combust
