Are there curves, surfaces or proportions that make a car beautiful by themselves?

    Is there such a thing?

    Maybe nature inspired?
Or some math like the golden ratio/fibonacci that its supposedly widespread in nature?

Yes the ones that look like they belong on a woman.

They make a car instantly sexier.

Didn't we discuss that woman-cocacola thing not that long ago?

This thing comes to mind. Aside from the odd treatment of the front, behind the shoulders it does look quite nice. I think the artist was satirizing '60s cars or something, but I think it bears out Ferrer's point quite well.

That all said, the dagmars on midcentury Cadillacs were not very attractive.

"No. My Finnish is fine; I am from Finland. Do you have any water?"

Don't know that theres any SINGLE form which can do that. But of course there are few who don't like long hood/short deck configurations. And someone once told me (this is unconfirmed) that most of the cars considered beautiful were in or around a 110" wheelbase.
An it harm none, do as ye will

Approximately 79% of statistics are made up.

    What about surfaces?
Let's say you were hired to design the quite flat sides for a boxy car.
Say you can make the surface curvature protude 3 inches out.

What surface curvature would you use?
i.e. circular, parabolic, elliptical, parametric if so which one

oh i forgot the proportions of the wheels and bodyhight. saw it on tv some time ago. i used it to sketch up this car

    Home - techniek

big surfaces should be avoided imo. the air-intakes over the doors were added later, because it looked like a long cigar shaped vehicle.

i think its all about proportions
