I noticed that the car in the third pic in the 2nd post has a second emblem with a V on it. Was this a special version (perhaps Vanden Plas)?

I don't see what you see, but I have a feeling that the 'V' actually denotes the V12 model of the car- Vanden Plas was mainly used with Rovers. Press pictures usually are taken of the best model the manufacturer makes, to give off a better look. You don't see many press photos of base model Focuses with wheel trims!

The only Vanden Plas Jaguar I've been able to find is the latest generation XJ.

IWantAnAudiRS6 got it right - it is indeed a XJ12 not a XJ6 as labelled.
