Oh, I see. It's just that I heard some people were busted for simple things like non-Microsoft replacements and some people were banned for seemingly no reason at all - they might've bought used consoles that were modded without their knowledge.

Yeah, i've seen that a lot. Just bought a third console on ebay and all the consoles had lots in the description reassuring me that it wasn't banned from live.

I had two consoles flashed but since loads were getting banned I decided to buy a legitimate one and use that from now on. Today when I connected my flashed one again to download some Rockband DLC it told me it was banned. Sucks...

Dedicated servers are already cracked for PC MW2, you just have to download an illegal version. So it shouldn't take that long for some random in his parents basement to figure this out

The "difficulty" is the PC is an open platform so LOTS of scope and places for hacks to introduce work-arounds.
The XBox is a fairly closed environment.
But I still think 3 days is a bit much time, they're either stopping too often for breaks to pla the game they're cracking OR the're not consuming enough twinkies and root beer/Mountain Dew
