Just to clarify, that's not a standard thing for insurers here. Shannon's niche is for these sorts of classic vehicles, so they cater to the sorts of demands that their customers have.

They sound pretty nifty actually, agreed repairer & value, salvage title, all the good stuff most insurers reject.

They know their market and they cater for it very well. They have higher.. standards.. for their customers though. I tried for them with my mini, but was turned down.. I can't remember why, but it probably had something to do with the crash I had with my BMW.

premium was roughly $800 per year iirc. different standards for pre-1970 stuff, it's expected that it won't be driven everyday thus the rates are adjusted accordingly.
here she is at home this morning:

everything laid out in order as it is removed:

upon further consideration after seeing it stripped of trim the next car may be 10-15mm lower, the seats can be bolted straight to the floor and a perspex wind deflector fitted

Wish that was an option for all policies. Good luck putting some of it back together.

I like the 'distressed' look. Much character.

Will ask aroudn the kit car guys and see if we can get some comments on them for you.

Does look nice tho' .... the stripped car and that body supplier :0

re "leaf springs" .... hey, "some" will claim transverse leaf is the ultimate suspension system

Rear looks in good condition, how are the front chassis legs ?

( Tho' time to get rust treatment on that chassis )

EDIT: Hmmmmmm, they were doing a replica of the Macua race car ... THAT would be awesome

Good to see you guys in traditional Australian safety footwear. I always insist upon them.

So.. how to straighten the chassis?

thanks matra, any feedback or experience from them would be good to hear.
i'm not sure on the front chassis legs without measuring, as it's canted up at an angle.. but in both cases the bending seems to be in the middle.
