    Right.
And you should also add steering, lighting and heating to that list. It all steals energy.

Pieter should probably start to drive 1 meter behind trucks to reduce drag and save fuel, too.

    Maybe.

I have chosen a special option for this car. It automatically attaches a rope to any truck driving in front of me.

Looks like NASA technology is finally finding it's way to economy cars. Yay.

Good one, Henk. I've read the reviews which give these high marks and not just for economy. Nice looking practical transportation.
Too bad the last cars Americans would buy that gave 55+ miles per gallon hit the streets 20+ years ago.

With the exception of hybrids, we have few high fuel efficiency choices.

    30 Km/liter - theres no way a petrol 1600 could match that

    that is impressive

^ Actually steady state 55mpg there are a few that could reach that peak point !
But those conditions usually only exist for a few hundred metres before boredom has you flooring the throttle again
It's the overal consumption that is good for this.

Those conditions should be very perfect indeed, and even then I doubt there are many 1600cc petrol cars that can do 5l/100km...

Well 5l/100km is only 56mpg and ots can manage THAT in steady state 55mph good road.

The C3 is 85mpg and that is needing a more modern engine and fuel management but even in 10 year old cars I've seen better than that come up on computer displays when having "fun" seeing how high and how low you can make it

It's stop/start, acceleration, higher speeds and undulations that screw with the real world figures
