it is not tax free in Holland, it would require 95g CO2/km....and aprt from that, the A1 is not something I want to be seen in....

If I had been interested in an A1 I would have taken the DS3 EHDi, which also comes tax free (but is 2000 Euro more expensive than a C3).

We are now 6600 km down the road, and during that period it has sipped 250.7 liters, which results in an average mileage of 26.6 km per litre. This is roughly 62 mpg. Average speed according to the board computer was 62 kp/h, and average consumption according to the computer was 25 km/litre.

City driving is the main culprit of low average speeds.

Also, 3,8 l/100km sounds very low.

mea culpa, my wife forgot to write down one tank fill of about 35 liter, which drops the mileage to 23.1 km per liter

That sounds much more like it.

What were the driving conditions (motorway/city/normal roads, cruising speeds,...)?

my wife uses the car to go to work (22 kms one way), but we also do longer trips up to 250 plus km motorway, virtually sidelining the C5 for all domestic trasnport.
