    modern motor/trans for DKW 3=6 ?

My friend found a DKW 3=6 today at a yard sale ,

It has a dead motor in it ,

Has anyone put a modern 4 stroke motor in one ?

Its a neat car , but it would be nice to have a modern motor so you could buy parts for it,

    any ideas ?

    thanks

Hi and welcome to UCP. Depending on where you are, you be able to get into contact with the German DKW-Club, who might have some parts available. A good engine choice could be the Ford V4 as also used in the Saab 96. It is also based on front wheel drive and much more powerful.

Why not use a Audi 80/Passat (Fox/Dasher in US)

these pictures i found for a few years ago on the internet
its a 1000 SP roadster with a Audi 80 engine and i also think they used the A 80 gearbox , (looks to be in a museum ?)
