Since villa d,este the car has been under race restoration in the Uk and on scanning the tub for possible de lamination it was discovered it was not a new tub but had been repaired ( not to well ) on the lower right front pick up area , this is consistent with the damage sustained to the tub by the crash at the Canadian GP by De Cesaris . We also believed the car had been re-tubbed but it no appears it is still the original one . The car was purchased before villa D,este but as it was already accepted to be at the concours was taken there by its previous owner . Hopefully it be back on track shortly |

By the time the cars of this era were on the track, I had already been following F1 for more than 15 years...so I well remember my enthusiasm for them. Maybe it's case of -- like the drivers of the time say -- "We didn't know any better...but, man, those drivers (and their feet and legs) were SO exposed with that far-forward driving position! Astonishing to see it now...in hindsight. |
