Alright,so ive don ethis plenty of times before but i can never remember how i do it..so....i got windows xp....how do i hide the folders and files from the desktop so all i see is the background?

Right click the icon, and select hidden under attributes?
Theres a shorter faster way cause i know i didnt do that in the past
Right click anywhere on your desktop, select 'Arrange Icons By', then uncheck 'Show Desktop Icons'.
Select all> move to recycle bin> empty recycle bin
My other computer's desktop is shaved more than Johnny's mom. No recycle bin, no names under the only 3 icons on the picture. Haxor.

Yeah this only deletes the short cuts not the files. This is the best way imo.
I have a similar but not the same request. Is there a way to just show the icon and none of the lettering? I still need the icons on the desktop. :D
