Toyota FT-HS Concept
Hello friends.
I did not see the pics of the new concept car from Toyota so I thought I would post a thread for it...
Beautifully done concept car by the way: maybe a preview of the future Celica????
Here are some unofficial info on the car...
FT-HS Hybrid Sports Concept:
- Engine: 3.5-liter DOHC V6, mated to an assumed 650V, water-cooled electric motor; power: Over 400hp
- Dimensions: 170.3 inches in length, 73.2 inches wide and 50.8 inches high.
The car will be launched at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, on Jan 7, 2007.

wow, good first thread/post mate.
it looks likea nice car, but they're CGIs aren't they? hope the supra replacement looks something like this. Big thumbs up to Toyota

Nice, welcome to UCP. I see that you're a supporting member already.
I like the overall dimensions, but I don't like the Targa roof really.
-
I think that looks great, and welcome to UCP

Brilliant first post!
Looks really nice... 911 competitor?

More likely the rumoured new Supra.

Hmm, not bad, but that front has to go. It looks like a boat!

Looks like Toyota/Lexus are really pushing the whole hybrid sportscar thing hard. Nicely done. Looks cool to.
-
to me it looks like it may be mid-engined, so therefore... MR2????
-
too lexus like
i hope toyota gets a different design, the front and back don't mix but alone they look quite good
-
WOW! I like it. At least it looks like they tried something. It's the first totally forward-thinking concept in a while that I didn't think was a total mess.
-
This car could be a little less block shaped overall. The front and back are so flat.......

Thank you all for your warm welcome!
Here are even more interesting concept drawings (by the way, thanks Toyota for releasing them, because such drawings are becoming rarer and rarer)
I believe the styling was done at Toyota's Calty Design Center in California...
Note the sliding carbon fibre roof: neat feature!

By no means a copycat but this car, mostly in concept form reminds me of a Lancia Stratos; same type of rambunctiousness.
Great post! Welcome to UCP.

Welcome!!
I saw this on LLN, and I have to say that I really dig it, that being said, I have to agree that the front end is a bit much, and it does look like a boat. The rear is alright, and it would be better if the front were to be pulled down a bit to better offset the rear end.
