I live in Los Angeles and the sales tax is 10%
How can I buy a $30k car and not pay any sales tax?
If I buy a vehicle from a dealer in Nevada (which has ZERO sales tax) am I good or will I have to pay when I register my car in Caifornia?

In CA you have to pay sales tax on it when you register the car up to 3 years, i think, after purchase. No matter if you paid sales tax on it in another state when you purchased the car. The only way I can see getting around it is buying a car privately, and when signing the title over, put the price paid as zero dollars. But that isn't actually legal. And that won't work on a new car, or CPO, or used from a dealer.

welcome to Germany, where the normal tax on cars is >19% :D
I think there isn't any way to get a car without paying taxes, at least if you don't want to do something illegal.
