It has been a busy day at Aston Martin and Aston Martin Racing today. The British sports car company revealed a substantially updated Vantage. Among the numerous changes are a revised exterior and an enhanced twin-turbo V8 engine. In its latest guise, the four-litre unit that powers the Vantage evolution is now good for 655 bhp. At the same time, a GT3 version of the Vantage was also introduced. Now eligible for all major international endurance races, the Vantage GT3 will race all around the world. Aston Martin Racing expect no fewer than 30 examples to be competing before the end of the year. The third Aston Martin launched today is the AMR24 Grand Prix car. It is an evolution of the surprisingly competitive 2023 car. Among the most noticeable changes is a switch to push-rod rear suspension. The AMR24 already hit the track today for a brief shakedown at Silverstone ahead of the official test sessions later this month.
Another new Formula 1 car revealed is the Alpine A524. Slated as a major step forward, the A524 will be driven by Pierre Gasly and Esteban Ocon.
As a tribute to the iconic 90 Quattro IMSA GTO, Audi have created a limited production RS 6 Avant GT. Powered by a 620 bhp version of Audi's twin-turbo V8, the Avant GT boasts a series of striking exterior features that are unique to this model. Only 660 examples will be built with deliveries starting in the second quarter of 2024.
Also announced this week is the Pagani Huayra R Evo. Compared to the original Huayra R introduced in 2021, the Evo version has a more aerodynamically efficient coda lunga or long-tail body. The naturally aspirated V12 powering the Huayra R Evo has also been improved and now produces 887 bhp.
