Until the new Multijet technology arises... 150bhp from a 1.4 naturally aspirated, by my calculations a 2.0 would be able to make 220bhp with natural aspiration...?
Things are supposed to go like this:
Punto 1.4 Turbo = 120bhp
Punto 1.4 Turbo "S" = 150bhp
Punto Abarth (blown 1.6-litre, apparently shared with your beloved Corsa ;)) = 190bhp
When Multiair/Uniair is available add 10% in all of the power ratings... :)
Oh and by the way there's also a prototype of a naturally aspirated 1.4-litre engine giving 150bhp, as you say, but I doubt it will reach production, at least in this generation of Punto...

Really? Ah... some crossed lines. Damn the Internet.
The Uniair looks pretty cool... I like the sound of the Punto Abarth :D
Hey- how about this- Multijet Uniair Twincharged?

Well think of a current Golf GT with 200bhp and 200ft-lb... :)
Even better, fit that under the bonnet of a TT Mk II...

Nah, not a TT, that's a poser's car :p
I vote the next-gen VW Corrado (whenever they're going to make it)

It is, but the new one is full of clever technology which wolud make it very, very fast indeed... :)

So's the BMW M6, but you wouldn't put a 200bhp I4 in that, would you? ;)

No becuase the technology in the TT is useful and clever (like all the aluminium parts, which make the TT quite a light car, about 100kg lighter than similarly engined Golf) and the technology on the M6 is just stupid (like the preposterous carbonfibre roof which still doesn't hide the fact that it's a monstrous 1800kg coupe)... :p
Besides the TT already is available with a 200bhp four cylinder engine (the same as in the Golf GTI). Now if the weight saving in the Golf between the GTI and the GT was the same in the TT you could have a 1200kg 200bhp coupe, which isn't bad at all... ;)

Point taken. Agreement.
I'll have it in VW's version of the TT, thanks ;)

Welcome back, Greenhorn!
The Civic is back with us. It turned out to be more hassle than it was worth. The guys at the autoshop are on first name terms with my parents, we've had a string of bad luck...
- May: A tyre blew out on the Lupo, it spun and smashed into a parked car.
- June: The Civic gets arse-raped by some blonde in a Punto.
- July: One of the girls at work cut a corner and beaned the Lupo...
-
It's a bit dangerous to actually be in one of your cars... :p
Glad the Civic is back. ;)
-
Well, it's much more dangerous in my mate's red Audi A4 :p
We went over a humpback bridge at about 80 mph, with 5 people in it, and we got air :p
