Mazda Furai
Here it is now released, the Mazda Furai. I am really not digging the design direction that Mazda is headed in, I hated the Nagare concept and think the Furai is quite hideous. It is however, very novel, as it is essentially a Courage C65 chassis - which I imagine will be very suited to racing and the like. Anyways, according to UCP it has a 3-rotor Wankel good for 450 hp.
Pics are form Jalopnik and UCP by the way.

I like all but the nose...

Thats a cool car......most interesting thing in a while...
I'd bet its loud as hell like the C65 Mazda racecar.....that thing was ear piercingly loud....

theyve taken the ryuga's grill and the taiki's front wheel arches and side vents. Mazda is making concepts from their own concepts and made their own version on the zonda. I love it.

This car became epic the second someone said they would build it, great concept, one of the most beautifull cars ever.

I doubt it's as loud as an old Lotus 69 at full throttle just inches form you... :p
Does Mazda plan on going racing again?

**** me sideways, that thing is spectacular. Love it. Can anyone else see a fair bit of McLaren F1 in the profile, particularly in the rear?

E100? Mmm, boost.

So is this the 787B successor? If it is I hope they make their return to Le Mans with it. While the design isn't my favorite, it is quite a stunning car.

I've never had the pleasure, or even been in the presence of a Lotus 69 at full throttle. I can say with out doubt that the rotary powered Courage-Mazda (that this car is based on) was the loudest car that has run in the ALMS.

B-K Motorsports has run a Mazda powered LMP2 machine for the last 5 years. The current car is a Lola powered by a turbo-charged I4.

I do wish Mazda would take a more aggressive approach though. Their program is minuscule compared with Porsche's and Acura's. To me this car signifies more of a desire on Mazda's part to make an uncompromising sportscar. I do think that this concept is far to extreme to make it to the street, but I sure do like what they are thinking.

I like it a lot, coolest Mazda I've seen.
