It's like the body of a hatchback with the looks of a wagon... I'd dig it if it looked sportier.

Indeed very fail. Especially since apparently it was designed with Europe in mind.
I read the blurb on this and was anticipating something good. I was let down once I delved deeper. Considering the competition this would have to drive remarkebly well. Its odd, i was just reading an article on how the auris (corolla) is criticised for being boring when its really just badge snobbery, and here we are, a corolla in different clothes. Will its drive still be criticised? Its only real technical highlight is the multilink suspensions at the rear as per the higher end toyota sister car. Its long overhangs and short rear doors also make it look unbalanced IMO. Its a shame because I think Lexus could really cash in on this market segment.
Indeed the only thing which could save it is excellent ride and handling thanks to the bespoke suspension. Because it doesn't have anything else...
Maybe racing can improve the appeal? #4
