I love it, especially if you compare it to the offerings BMW has right now. I like the way they styled the front end (which finally draws inspiration from the classic BMW front again- they should have done this a while ago), and the rest of the car isn't bad, either. Much better than the current 6er (yes, I know that they aren't related at all).
Build this thing BMW! And while your at it, build the M1 hommage, too! :D
I think it's an overdesigned lump of metal that shamelessly pillages BMWs heritage.
But nevermind. :)
There was another recent concept that also had old BMWs front end, but was much better at being a concept. It was some EfficientDynamics thing, IIRC.
Well, I'm glad they're not mass producing them.
I won't need to see it.
It's 1936 and the shape of the BMW 328 is typical of small sports cars. It's performance and styling become iconic.
It's 2011, and someone decides a poorly detailed homage is needed. And the leather straps do what?
Serious fail on this one. The coupe show car and skinned roadster from a few years ago were technically interesting and attractive.
WTF happened?
What a badass car! Some of the details are tacky, but I like the overall presentation.
I have to say it. I think the 328 is ugly.
The 328 looks like a penis to me; and it's grille like a vulva.
This homage is also hideous.
Wow, someone needs to get laid :p
I don't think they understand the meaning of the word hommage. Usually it means pay tribute to something and in cars case maybe like design the newer car to kinda resemble the car that's paying tribute to or something like that. I wouldn't know though i'm not a car designer or hommagerer ;)
I think it's fantastic. It looks even better in person.
I think the interior is hideous, but overall, a well designed car. But other than the grill, I don't think its styled as an homage at all.
The original was simple and elegant. This one is... exactly the opposite.
I think it's hideous.
One word. Horrible, actuly very horrible. I realy don't like the look of this cars.
The Z8 was a better homage. Discuss.
Edit: I don't think it is, but maybe someone can make a case for it.

At least it was good looking.
I wouldn't mind having one.
I don't really like it. It's pretty bad as an homage. Maybe if they didn't tag that on I wouldn't think it was so bad. Actually I would probably still think it was bad...but maybe not AS bad.

Some further thinking.
Hommaging the car that almost brought you to bankruptcy is a brave thing to do.
There you go. It's been justified.
I'm going to be contrary and mention two words to you: Cyber Punk.
This is the vehicular embodiment of that aesthetic. And it's gorgeous.
The Z8 was overly literal to me, too coke bottle. Gorgeous, but elitist without being elegant.
