[quote=Cyco;803342]Doesn't the VE use the T56 box the guy offers, but doesn't recommend?

Yes same with Falcon. They can be a bit tight on shifts but there pretty heavy duty.

I'm currently looking for a Jag XJS, or several!
There is 2 options at this stage:
1) get a really pristine late model and just some minor changes to make it the way I want (manual, etc)
2) get a really early car that is still straight, and turn it into a race car.

Ever see those old magazine articles on this particular car? At the time it was a big $$ effort and quite the rocketship

Btw a while a go I tried to get Mrs nota into a cheap one of these (below) but alas she wasn't interested :(. It was similar spec (Chev/auto/gas in BRG) and seemed good value - looked average but mechanically good, a rego'd daily driver for iirc about $3200

Fwiw I sometimes notice those boxy (Oz-assembled iirc) De Tomaso Longchamps selling at reasonably affordable prices
I've been advised that the day petrol hits $2/litre the market will be flooded by V12 XJSs and so I'll wait till then for the prices to drop even more

we have already had words about this Chris... however that option would mean less time spent looking at it braking down and more time driving it and feeling the sensation of having something else fail :p
