The recently unveiled SQ7 is Audi's second high performance diesel SUV to wear the S badge.
The SQ7 is powered by a 4 litre twin turbo diesel V8. It has 435bhp and 900Nm (664ft-lb) available from 1000rpm all the way to 3250rpm.
The engine has two significant mechanical firsts for an Audi production diesel engine: variable valve timing and an electric supercharger to boost low down power.
Despite weighting over two tons, it still does 0 to 100km/h in under 5 seconds. Top speed is limited to 250km/h, as usual.
Geez I was going to lament the loss of the V12 diesel until I saw that torque figure.
