Interesting to see that we made it to 250 mph in the early 20th century but it took the 21st century for us to make a street car that was able to get to that speed. :D

Well there's always the WM record, 251mph in 1988. And in the same year the road going Callaway Sledgehammer Corvette was theoretically capable of 255mph, altough I don't know if there's any truth in this.
