The Mercedes-Benz w124 500E! No doubt!
E34 M5, 3.8/6-speed. It looks even more ordinary than the E39 and it's handling is more prone to four wheel drifts than simple power slides.
rs4 seems to be the better choice, quattro rules

Biggest problem I have with the M5 6-cyl being a Q-car is they weren't really that fast a car .. even in their day
In comparison, to me this is genuine Q > http://www.ultimatecarpage.com/forum/779803-post21.html :o
(similar 1992 SS V8 ute for illustration)

I'm suprised nobody mentioned it until now. Most probably the stealthiest Q car ever.

And if you go for the estate even better.
Or perhaps the M3 E36 saloon.

That makes me wonder, are there pictures of that type of M3 in the Hide Out?

Thanks. It is very discreet indeed.
VW Lupo GTI or Audi RS6 Avant - patently!
E39 or E60 M5
Unassuming? Fast? Anonymity defined.
E39 M5. Pure perfection.
So true! i love that car so subtle yet so powerfull

Nice choice. Parts for the W8 must be hard to find and expensive though.

Yup!
I would also include the newest RS4, as others have mentioned.

And No Diggedy to boot.
The 500E is a blade Engineered by Mercedes-Benz and honed by Porsche, oddly enough.
If you've ever seen one, you know. If you haven't, you don't. Never has a pair of gently flared fenders lent so much to a car's design.
As a 190E, it was beyond worthless.
As an E500 it gets mention in an American book of Musclecars.
The E500 was truly great. It was a worthy rival to the Lotus Carlton, but more subtle. It's got more classs than the Carlton, which was arguably the better car, but as far a Q-car presence, 'Quail has got to agree with s-d. The 500E was the ULTIMATE Q CAR, taking the crown from the SEL6.9 and running with it to an ultimate conclusion that hasn't yet, and might never be reached again.
500E = epic win. End of Story, as far as 'Quail is concerned.
