a liberty/legacy would manage that just fine.
Right now I'm looking at a 1993 Ford Ranger extended cab 4x4 with a 4.0 V6...

Don't get a truck.
How often will you actually utilize it for it's intended purpose?
Aren't you an enthusiast? A car enthusiast, not a truck enthusiast.
Get a BMW or Audi or something like that. I say you go for something completely impractical like a 944 (Yeah, I plug them too much, but they're cheap, handle well, and somewhat quick). It's only feasible to to be impractical when you;re young, you can buy a truck when you're a geezer.
Oh poo poo, I might end up having to get a pickup truck, due to them being more practical for doing stuff where I live, and it'd be better for going camping and the like.
Your evolution has been so far great. From a luxury saloon to a pickup truck.
What's next a mid engined 2 seater sportscar? :p
Get an alto and be done with it.
Get one of those big pedophile vans that lack rear windows and call it a day.

LoL a rape van?
I need a response really quick on this question

It says the windows don't roll up because they need to be wired up. I'm thinking it's the control module or the switches, which are cheap and easy to fix.
Any thoughts on the car?
Looks like....burgandy...
172,000 miles? That is a lot. Horrible colour.
Do you have 2,700 dollars to waste on what could end up being a piece of crap?
There's no such thing as criticizing the colour of a cheap car. I had a sky blue Camry. Read it aloud: sky *observe a pause* blue *observe another pause* Camry. Burgundy is ok. Yeah, there are better colours. Soooo? It's a cheap car.
I'd definitely consider it, but the mileage is way too high. The car may be cheap, but parts are not. Ask Sauc3, he'll tell you (if he ever get Internet back) :p
So David says: there are better deals around.
Get it if the only car you could possibly live with is a (burgundy) BMW 3 series, and you need it now.
Im sure there are better E36's out there somewhere.

There are better ones out there, but too far away.
My parents aren't too keen on driving a long distance. Spokane and North Idaho is as far as I can go.

I can get parts pretty cheap via the internet, or the NorthWest BMW Club, so that isn't an issue.
The mileage may be a bit high, but if it's taken care of well, it can last a long time.
