I believe it's a Chinese company that is making the bid for Hummer.

Chinese people in a Hummer? that would be very interesting...;)
Spot on. Ferrer, you may have dreams of true live and let die capitalism but do you really think that that would be in the best interest of the US and even the world at this point? The unemployment rate would skyrocket if GM was liquidated and/or died a true death and that'd be an epic disaster.
No. Which is why controlled is/would be much better (BL didn't disappear immediately either). But I don't think they should be "let go" as if nothing happened.

you should consider those who buy it, not those who own the company.
I don't agree, btw, if it was all about the UAW, then why not to kill the UAW? Considering the Government is handling the situation, it should be a solution to be considered, no?
The UAW, and unions in general, are favored by the Democratic party who now have the White House and Detroit was governed by the same party.
So it isn't about what makes sense as usual with politics.

To be fair a large portion of the country is rural and mountainous with rocky unpaved roads, sounds like a Hummer to me (That is if they can harden up the H2 and H3 which were based on cushier, less hardcore off-road vehicles)

You make an interesting point, technically the government does not allow unions, or more specifically striking. In the 1980s all the air traffic controllers in this country went on strike (against the law) and were fired. But then again that was Reagan and he wasn't exactly blue-collar friendly.

Aren't Americans concerned that the United States of America has an 11 trillion dollar debt and the government are giving $10 billions of working TAXPAYERS money to the companies which have failed so badly like AIG and GM?
