Agree with that other person who suggested you use a Swift as the base.
The Daewoo is just too underequipped IMO to be turned into a hot hatch cheaply, the torsion beam rear is no good, the brakes are no good, the wheels are too small to fit decent tyres that are absolutely essential to good handling.
Swifts are currently being used in low level motorsports like road rallies and is a much more capable base car that could be properly quick with a few simple mods.
It's a good dream, but give yourself the best chance.
