Power Steering Leak
I'm pretty sure I'm screwed but I might as well throw this out there:
I'm leaking power steering fluid at about a rate of an ounce or two per minute. Pretty sure it's draining at the rack and pinion as the immediate housing and hoses look to be okay.
I'm thinking about picking up some Power Steering stop-leak fluid but it's probably just a waste at the rate I'm hemorrhaging this stuff. Looks like I'm in for a grand+ in repairs.
Anything else I can do or check before I throw in the towel and scrap a paycheck?

That does seem like a quick leak. When the rack in my Volvo was leaking the fix was to replace the rack, as apparently it was cheaper to buy a reconditioned rack than to pull out the existing one and replace all the seals in it in the garage. Labour costs I guess, and there was probably some trade-in value for the old one. It wasn't leaking nearly as much as yours though, I had to replace it to register it in this state. I was just topping it up weekly.

Rock, if it's leaking that fast nothing from a can is gonna help. Check all the hard fittings first to see if any are cracked, you could luck out. Hoses are cheap. Otherwise, rebuilt rack as pimento suggests, core exchange saves some money. But $1000,... complete racks run $200 and up, so that suggests 5-8 hours at current shop rates which seems a lot to R&R one. What's the car?

Got lucky. Busted hose line. Cost about $100 when all was said and done.

try to use the power steering stop leak if you do not work or use these auto repair manuals that I've online, find out what is leaking, and replace worn or broken hose seals
