Thinking of getting...
either an 01 or 02 Audi TT quattro 6 spd coupe.
I'm sure quiqqs has already got an erection at the mere thought of a 1.8T engine, but does anyone know anything specific about these cars? I'm doing some research on a TT specific forum, and I'm aware of some faulty instrument clusters and random electronics that like to fail. But is there anything I should be aware of or prepared to do upon purchasing the vehicle?
Anyone have any different thoughts?
The reason I want it is because its an all year sports car. We have hot summers and sometimes long and painful winters here, so it seems like a great car to make the transition between seasons.
Thanks guys for your help

i see your definition of 'sports car' is quite loose :p :D
anyway, irrespective of known faults, have it inspected by someone competent regardless, before buying ;)

I'd buy a different Audi.

IIRC he has a pretty quick bike so having an extreme sports car probably isn't worth it. Right Rob?
On that note, I'd go with an S4 but the TT isn't so bad, if a bit feminine imo.

Agreed. I find that car quite feminine.

Second on the feminine part.

I vote S4.
You can turbocharge the piss out of the 2.7T.

s4's nice
subaru sti, maybe?

Hmmm, I knew the feminine thing was an issue with the TT, but its why I thought the coupe would cure a bit of that. As well, there are certain things that can be done to the car appearance wise that make it appear a bit less femme. The black valence from the 3.2 quattro comes to mind. S4 would be a nice vehicle, but hard to find in my area. There is however a beautiful condition 1.8T A4 last generation for sale dressed up with all the RS4 doodads. I suppose it would make a nice car. I'll try to get some pics of that to show.

Oh here's the sad part, rock. The ducati has got to go if I buy a car like that. By the way the RSX is already gone. But yea, I can't afford an expensive bike AND an expensive car. That would've been too good to be true. Insurance for both is ridiculous. That's why I wanted something fun that I could have all year round. It was too depressing seeing the Duc sit around for most of the year anyway. What a waste of a beautiful creation. One day when I can afford to, I will have both. But for now its got to be either or.

This is the link to the A4 that I was considering.
The main things are that the Audi must be standard and it must have quattro.

Sportscar and Audi don't belong to the same sentence.
Except if it's the R8.
I'd say buy something else. But then people will accuse me of hating Audi. Which I do.
Well at least the fit and finish will be good.

I hate Audi as well, so Albert is not the only person who hates Audi. Rob, lower whichever car you buy. :D
