My 350Z
So I finally bought this baby yesterday. 2007 Base Model with 19k miles for under US $20k. It doesn’t have any kind of electric seats, heating seats, and buttons on the steering wheel for cruise control and stereo functions… what it does have is 306HP and 268 pound-feet of torque, 6-speed manual, and a 0-60 in the low 5s!
I looked for a long time for the right Z since I really wanted an 07+ model.
'07+ = 306hp, 268torque
'06 = 300hp, 260torque
'03-'05 = 287hp, 274torque
The ’07 also has a nice bump on the hood, 18” wheels, and a different engine
Here’s an 03-06 engine:

I drove it home under heavy Florida rain on the highway and doing 70-80mph felt like nothing, this is on a completely different level than what I’m used to… It also feels good the fact that you can be going 60mph on 5th gear, punch the gas a bit and the car MOVES... It's a bit scary, it hits the redline at 7500rpms and I believe I haven't even been at 6000rpms yet :o
I haven’t really had the chance to test the car 100% yet (as I said it was pouring rain when I left the dealer), but I surely will and will have more to write in the future.
I was a bit sad to see the Civic go, so many things happened in that car, it took me to so many places, so many of my friends and friends that I haven’t seen in years rode in that car, hell I even learned how to drive manual in that car… Farewell little Civic…
Here are some photos of the car, keep in mind that it rained last night and haven't had a chance to clean it. Also, I had to work later in the morning so I snapped all the photos in about 20 minutes... I managed to get some HDRs :) Enjoy..

looking good niko.
shame it's not the blue but that's still a nice silver :D
any plans for it?
-
nice car, congratulations
those tyres look racy...
-
looks very nice... take her out and give it some stick. (although i am sure thats what you did to and from work, and any oher chance you got to drive her.)
perchance does yours have a shift light? mine does, and i didnt know if the Z has it or not. and those are definitely not the OEM tires.
-
Congrats Niko, I woulda said so in the other thread but I forgot.
What does the wife think of it?

It does and it can be adjusted so that it starts blinking at the rpms of your choice, pretty cool, I had no idea the car had that feature.
Thanks for the comments guys :)

The wife thinks I now drive a chick magnet and it's a bit concerned lol... but she loves it as well.
-
Congrats.
That silver looks much better in the real world than in the studio shot you showed in the other thread.
Interior is meh, but it don't matter.
I am surprised how good it looks(condition-wise).

with a wife as hot as yours, she neednt worry about you straying. it will be a good car for the tw of you to pull up to the clubs you always seem to be heading to. a lot better than a civic.

It's almost immaculate, only a few minors scratches :) It's gray btw.
Here's a comparison photo

Thing is... I always get wasted, so we'll still be taking her Automatic Scion Xa so she can drive back home hehehe.
-
is that plastic cover over the engine necessary? or does it come off? just curious (holden has something similar but it's flimsy as, just comes off)

Dude, being a bit forward, your wife should have nothing to fear because if you have a woman that looks that good as your wife... Why the hell would you need anything on the side?
To be truthful, I am not a big fan of the Z's design but I recognize it is a sick ass car and as far as V6s go it has one of the best I'd wager (well, maybe beaten by the newer 3.7 in the 370Z). I gotta say it is cool to see your excitement - it is transmitting very well over the internet so in person you must be ecstatic. I think all UCP wishes that you track this car at Sebring and have nice photos of you gunning it down the runway.

Thanks man, it really feels crazy... I think people around me are getting annoyed already :) My wife's extremely happy though, she sees my huge smile all day long and enjoys it a lot.

it comes off... i dont know if you have to take the strut bar off of the HR, but it comes straight off the DE. my engine cover is hanging up in my garage.

i drove the G37, and it was a lot smoother, and not noticeably faster. however that was the auto, so it wasnt as powerful. if you are going to track it. do something to the brakes first. srsly. learn from my mistakes.

all your thoughts are belong to me.

I don't get to see many 350's in my area. Mostly due to the lack of dealership and snowfall 6 months of the year. I must say though, that color is sick.
The under $20,000 is starting to interest me. How far we talking? and how many miles on the clock? I always over look them when I start thinking about potential new cars. I may need to find one to test drive this spring.
Anyway congrats and be safe with it.

Go and test drive one, if possible an 07+, if you're not used to quick car (like me) the feeling is just brutal, I'm having such a hard time adapting. When you turn it on and rev it up it sounds so friggin nice inside....
I paid $18,750.00 + tax man.. I did a nationwide search on autotrader.com and there was IRRC, only one 07 which was cheaper. My car has 19,500 miles btw. I got lucky with the price I guess, I was on auto sites every single day for the past 2-3 months looking for one.. As a matter of fact, I knew everything about every 350Z that was posted within a 200 mile radius from my house already, it was ridiculous.
-
Congrats on the car. That colour really sets the car off.
And I'll be the first to welcome you to the nissan club :)

ah ok. does it look worse with it off? i know one of my friends has removed his simply because it cools better with it off (he says, anyway)

mine is a VQ35DE, if you look at the first pic niko posted you can see a majority of the engine. the silver part at the top of the intake manifold just extends almost all the way down the top of the engine. so just no branding under the hood.
niko's is a VQ35HR, so it looks a bit different, and i have no idea what it woudl look like.
-
Congrats, and the paint is completely different because of the HDR shot I assume.
Good car, and i'd take one in grey over the blue any day.
-
Sweet ride. Any mods planned or are you just going to keep it stock for now?

Well, aside from the fact that I'm broke right now (and enjoying every second of it) I really don't feel like modding anything right now... I would have tinted the windows, but they were already tinted... If I had purchased an 03-05 model I'd be searching for new wheels, but I love the stock ones on this model. I want to change the license plate frame, but that's about it... I'll keep her virgin for now :)

This is what you should make it look like. :D

How big is the trunk opening?
I'll keep her virgin for now :)
I like cars stock. Keep her pure, and anyways, I think you have plentiful power and torque.
-
I was about to suggest looking up the a company called "DAMD"
They make a rather aston martin esque (but close to stock looking) kit for the 350, I've seen the promo car they had in sydney a while back - its beautiful.

And you know theres nothing wrong with a sportier exhaust and intake setup :)
-
That is a Nice colour, and a nice car.

agree, hence why mine is stripped. not sure if it helps cooling... never really gotten hotter than just above C. even on the track.

Believe me... I'm working on that already ;)

he's working on something too. But its not your car or your wife.
-
Congrats (again). :)
This car hs just all the right ingredients. Big powerful engine in front, rear wheel drive and a manual gearbox. Enjoy it!
-
another add to the thread, good choice, beautiful color and props to you Niko! :)

Yep, exactly my thoughts at this moment. I'm happy with the looks and the performance... so why bother?
