Good choice, C.
Has only crashed once on me in the last year and at the time I was trying to make a call via BLueTooth while it was retrieving e-mail, doing sat-nav directions and running the SPortTracker app. Only fair I reckoned :)
Lmao! Proof that phones will eventually be fully-functioning PCs etc.
TBH I won't be using any Internet/3G-based services on the phone itself, as they aren't included in my contract, but I won't need to because with the USB adaptor, I can use my laptop anywhere. Browsing on the phone for more than a few minutes would infuriate me anyway!:p
Aside from normal calls and texts, I'll mainly be using the camera and organiser/calendar-type stuff as I use iSync with my PowerBook.
I chose this phone because the build quality and quality of the OS seems to be a cut above rivals. That and the fact that the spec is massive.
To be fair, however, most Australians demand far too much in Rigidity from their phones. and for future reference, concrete dust is like Kryptonite to N95 sliding mechanisms.
Lol, as I've said regarding iPods: Consumer electronics aren't generally designed for use as a basketball. My last phone is 3 years' old and still looks brand new, so I hope to repeat that kind of treatment with this one.

I was going to get a Nokia N95 8GB free on a $49 a month cap on 3 mobile but every time I walk into a phone shop someone is getting their Nokia N95 8GB back from the repair shop. The British, Irish and European N95 8GB must be a more reliable phone. Matra said his N95 8Gb has only crashed once in 12 months. I got a LG U990 (Viewty) on the $29 cap and $12 a month for 200 MB of internet usage. So that's $41 or about AU$1.35 for the next 2 years on this 24 month contract.
Anyway, IB4R and myself both live in Australia and we've seen people getting their problematic Nokia N95 8GB phones back after they've been repaired. I don't work at a phone shop unlike IB4R though. Don't you work for Vodafone. I had my first prepaid phone with Vodafone.

I like it very much so far. Paired with an overclocked E8400 it chews up anything I throw at it (except maybe Crysis).
I have only one issue with it, which is high idle temperature. It can be lowered a lot by ramping up the fan but as soon as you do that you can say goodbye silence =) So I've devised a clever plan :p I made 3 profiles for the fan - 30%, 40% and 100%. When I'm joking around the desktop etc. the fan is at 30%. It's at 40% when I'm playing games. It's quite loud at that speed so try to imagine what 100% sounds like :D
But otherwise I'm really impressed with the performance I got for 240€.

Just got a N95 8GB on the 26th last month. So far its been good but paying for GPS is not worth it to me so I didnt bother. The first thing I did however was run out and buy a case for it.
-
You can still use the Nokia mapping and positioning.
Can even work out routes :)
Nokia "charge" to then operate the route in real-time is pretty good and used quite often on Le Mans trip and when running RX-8 drives :)
-
I was also going to get a Nokia N95 8gig, Guy at the Vodafone shop scared me off a touch..
So i will buy it anyway:D..
A few i know have bought them, And have gone alright, Nothing insurance can't fix:p.
