Well I guess it must be official then.

Well, it must be like being in the 60's all over again with Jaguar, BMW and Alfa Romeo fighting all over the coveted "best sports saloon in the world title".

Except that Alfa Romeo was well established then and Jaguar and BMW the up and coming stars.

It is way more confusing now than back in the 1960s.

Cadillac is making a serious effort at sports sedans. Ford Mustang has an independent rear suspension. You can now buy a Mini that is bigger than any other C-segment hatchback.

Then there is this incomprehensible thing called electricity, which is nowadays being used to make cars go even faster.

    Good times indeed.

Curiously, despite the car being unveiled in LA the version in the pictures has a diesel engine.

Actually, did you know that the diesel will indeed be available in America?

(Well at least in the US)

I did! After what has gone down with VW, I am sure it will sell dozens of units per year!

Ford still has no sedan counterpart to the Chrysler 300C or Dodge Charger.

Frankly, I think Ford has just stopped trying to make something interesting.

At least Chevy has the SS sedan.

What about flat-plane crankshaft V-8 in a new Mustang GT350?

They have given up on the fullsize-sedan segment, surely. As Revo says, though, there is excitement elsewhere.
"Kimi, can you improve on your [race] finish?"
"No. My Finnish is fine; I am from Finland. Do you have any water?"
