i know i was trying on meds to improve wear and see how i could deal with them

for qualifying do you use soft/soft or soft/med?

i was thinking that soft on the rears would wear way too fast.

Soft / Medium. I think I drove the 2 hour race in the GT3 RSR on just two sets of soft/medium, so wear should not be a problem.
If you should see a man walking down a crowded street talking aloud to himself, don't run in the opposite direction, but run towards him, because he's a poet. You have nothing to fear from the poet - but the truth.

you should def try shifting yourself, and stabilty control will make you way slower too!

(or are you racing with a keyboard?)

for the rest of the aids, its your personal choice..

i sometimes shift down myself and normally let it run up the gears with occasional interference from me

Shifting yourself helps a lot with braking and judging the speed you are approaching a corner. Short shifting is also a good method to force the Porsche more into a direction at Pouhon for example.
