Your chance to own a Jaguar XJ220!

    Hello.
Today, when reading the newspaper i discovered a small ad for a car auction where a interesting car sprung into my eyes.
The car was a 1992 Jaguar XJ220, going on forced auction (meaning there will be NO RESERVE). The car unfortunately is crashed, and may need a new engine, but as nobody in Denmark really know about this car, this is the chance to grab a bargain for anyone interested!.
The car goes on auction on Wednesday.
Pictures of this wrecked beauty can be found here, if scrolled down enough:

Hope someone will save this car from becoming a "goner".

It really shows how under appreciated this car is in Denmark!
I really hope some collector or fan buys it and restore it.
Hopefully John Nielsen (winner of Le Mans 1990, and raced the XJ220 at Le Mans).

And here are the pics from the crash:
    Smadret Jaguar XJ220 - Bilgalleri.dk - Danmarks største bilgalleri

The story behind the car is somewhat strange. A Danish businessman bought it for DKR800.000 cash in Norway back in August 2004, but got "repo'ed" immediately by 15 members of Danish Hells Angels and imported illegally into Denmark where it got stored. It was crashed by a member of Hells Angels in August 2006, and has been sitting in storage in that state that ever since. It wasn't registered in Denmark at the time of the crash, but the businessman stepped forward and claimed ownership after the accident, but without having any proof of purchase.

So he spun out and hit a tree. Those images show more damage on the side, that the pics posted by the auction site show. Body panels messed up etc. This car needs ALOT of money dumped into it to get it going again.

Too bad, it's a nice car.

If you stripped off the busted sheetmetal, I'm sure it would look really nice as a display piece in your living rooms.
I'm dropping out to create a company that starts with motorcycles, then cars, and forty years later signs a legendary Brazilian driver who has a public and expensive feud with his French teammate.

To get this beauty driveable again indeed sounded too good to be true... For a 'regular guy's salary' that is.

Great chance to fit a V12 like it desered in the first place . I wonder what these are worth now considering the issues surrounding their introduction?
